Aktar is the Chef Patron of the Birmingham based, two Michelin Star restaurant Opheem, one of only two Indian restaurants in the UK and four in the world to hold that distinction.
Aktar started his TV career on Channel 4’s The F Word, and has appeared on many shows including Saturday Kitchen, The One Show and Rick Stein’s Food Stories. He is a regular mentor on MasterChef: The Professionals and is a veteran judge on The Great British Menu.
Birmingham born and bred, Aktar is also an incredibly active member of Birmingham’s ever growing food scene. His latest venture, Aktar at Home, is a critically acclaimed nationwide food delivery business offering traditional Indian home cooking.

Alexina has appeared on a variety of shows including @bbcone’s Saturday Kitchen, @channel4’s Sunday Brunch and @bbcradio4’s The Food Programme, as well as social media platforms including @mob and @TopJaw. She also regularly returns to the @masterchefuk kitchen as a guest judge, having been a finalist herself back in 2021.
Alexina’s debut cookbook Bitter is the first in a series on the 5 tastes and was released by Penguin in September 2023 to critical acclaim from the likes of Nigella, Waterstones and Rukmini Iyer. Her second cookbook, Sweet, will be released in February 2025.
Beyond the books and television work, Alexina runs sell-out events, including Sel, London’s most intimate supper club, and Cocoa POP, a chocolate-themed pop-up with chocolatier Octavia Lamb.

A Sony Award winner, Danielle’s been on the airwaves for over two decades and is well recognised in the industry, serving on the judging panel for the Mercury Music Prize six years in a row, as well as contributing to The AIM Awards, the Brit Awards and the BBC Sound of… Poll each year.
Off-air, Danielle has written for Q Magazine and Grazia, and is a well-respected musician herself, touring with Radiohead’s Philip Selway and Mercury-nominated Gaz Coombes in 2023.
