Dr James Greenwood is a practising vet, TV presenter and author, widely recognised for his compassionate and down-to-earth approach to animal care. As the resident vet on BBC’s Morning Live, he’s known for sharing expert advice with warmth, clarity and genuine heart — helping viewers across the UK better understand the animals in their lives.

James has appeared on CBBC’s The Pets Factor, ITV’s The Pet Show, C4’s Fur Babies, C5 Lost Dogs Live  and most recently joined Fern Britton on ITV’s Inside the Vets, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the highs and lows of veterinary life.

An accomplished author. James’s memoir, For the Love of Animals, offers a heartfelt glimpse into the highs and lows of veterinary life, featuring some of the extraordinary patients he’s met along the way. His debut children’s book, How to Talk to Your Pet, encourages readers of all ages to see the world from their animals’ perspective — blending humour, empathy and practical insight throughout.

Away from the cameras, James lives on a smallholding just outside Bristol with his husband Mark, their son Oliver, and their rescue labrador, Dolly — along with a lively mix of hens, ducks, and sheep.

James, a passionate advocate for animal welfare is a charity ambassador for Compassion in World Farming, Streetvet and SPANA.  He has worked with brands such as Petplan, Forthglade, and The Happy Egg Co, and is known for being a thoughtful, creative and collaborative person to work with — whether on screen, in print, or in partnership.
